The untimely passing of the late Bill Charlton left a void in the lives of those who were privileged to know him, especially his wife Maureen, brothers in law, cousins, nephews and many friends. In my role as Principal of Carrignafoy Community College, I was delighted over many years to receive from Bill practical support and guidance for the musical interlude at our Annual Awards Ceremony. Bill was always giving and provided many of our students an opportunity to shine out at the awards night using the keyboard and musical scores which enhanced our night. Recently, his wife Maureen, contacted me with an offer of Bill’s keyboard for use in our college so that other students might benefit from the legacy left by Bill. This was a very generous gesture and is gratefully received. Music inspires us all in ways that no other experience can match and so in using the keyboard, the memory of Bill lives on. One of our students Ray Rossau, is pictured practising on the keyboard today and so we say to Maureen-Thank you for such a kind thought!
